Privacy Policy

Effective date: 2026-10-19

This policy was written from a template for a small hobby website and is not legal advice. If you have questions about your own legal obligations, consult a qualified professional.

This policy explains what information is collected when you visit DNA Mods (“the site”, “we”, “us”), how it is used, and the choices you have. The site is a showcase for free Minecraft mods made by DNARWI23.

1. Information we collect

• No accounts, no forms. The site has no sign-up, login, comments or contact forms. We do not ask for your name, address or any other personal details.
• Support requests. This site does not collect email. Bug reports go through CurseForge, which handles that information under its own privacy policy.
• Server logs. Like almost every website, our web host may automatically record standard request information such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time of the request. These logs are used for security and to keep the site running, and are kept according to the host’s normal retention schedule.
• Analytics. The site does not currently use any analytics or visitor-tracking service. If that changes, this policy will be updated first.

2. Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. The site itself does not set any cookies of its own. However, when advertising is enabled (see below), Google and its partners may set and read cookies in your browser, or use similar technologies such as web beacons and device identifiers, to show and measure ads.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking cookies will not stop the site from working, but ads may become less relevant.

3. Advertising (Google AdSense)

The site may show ads served by Google AdSense to help cover hosting costs.

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites.
• Google’s use of advertising cookies (including the DoubleClick / DART cookie) enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
• You can learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services, and how it uses cookies in advertising, at https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
• You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings (https://adssettings.google.com). You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info/choices or, in Europe, www.youronlinechoices.eu.
• Other ad vendors or networks that serve ads through Google may also use cookies. A list of Google’s certified ad partners is published in the AdSense help center.

We never see or control the information Google collects through these cookies, and we do not receive any personal information from Google about individual visitors.

4. Consent (EEA, UK and Switzerland)

If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you will be asked for consent before personalized ads or advertising cookies are used, through a consent message provided by Google (a certified consent management platform). You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the privacy/consent link shown by that message. If you do not consent, you may still see non-personalized ads, which rely on context (such as the page you are reading) rather than your browsing history.

5. US state privacy rights

Depending on where you live (for example California), you may have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information. To opt out of personalized advertising, use Google’s Ads Settings or your browser’s Global Privacy Control setting where supported, or reach us through CurseForge Support (see below).

6. Children’s privacy

Minecraft is enjoyed by people of all ages, and this site is intended for a general audience. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The site has no accounts, forms or chat, so children cannot submit personal information through it.

Ads on this site may be configured to request contextual or non-personalized ads, which are chosen based on page content rather than a visitor’s browsing history. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has sent us personal information please reach us through CurseForge Support and we will delete it.

7. Links to other sites

The site links to other websites, mainly CurseForge for mod downloads, and to payment pages such as Ko-fi or Patreon if you choose to support the project. Those sites have their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to read. We are not responsible for their practices.

8. Data security and retention

Server logs are kept by our host as described above. No method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure, but we keep the site simple to keep data collection to a minimum.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we add analytics or change ad providers. Changes take effect when posted here with a new effective date.
